Adelaide to Brisbane - Own Van
Tour Overview
After collecting our vans in Adelaide, we'll venture into sheep and alpaca country to Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. We are treated to stunning views and a gourmet eating trail before we find ourselves in Australia's best known Wine Region - the Barossa Valley.
The journey heads west as we explore coastal and hinterland beauty, before we experience the Great Ocean Road. This features huge cliffs, raging surf, tranquil bays, lush rainforests, towering rock stacks and fascinating wildlife. It’s easy to see why it’s one of Australia’s most scenic roads.
Waiting for us next is Wilsons Promontory and Phillip Island which has excellent surf beaches. However it is known more for the resident colonies of the Little Penguins that come ashore every evening, riding the waves and waddling up the beach to their burrows. Included in your tour is the opportunity to view this amazing wildlife opportunity including the Koala Conservation Centre.
It's not only the scenery we'll be dazzled with as we head up the coast; we also find many seaside towns full of fresh seafood to tempt us. The Gippsland Gourmet Deli Region should also indulge your gastronomic urges, as we explore the area. If you like cheese, you’ll enjoy the famous cheese-making district of Bega.
For those interested in seeing the nation's capital, we'll make a detour inland to Canberra where you may like to spend some time in one of Australia's finest museums - the Australian War Memorial, amongst many other well known attractions.
We’ll continue exploring coastal towns - you'll see some of the whitest sands and clearest waters in the world in Jervis Bay. This area is frequented by dolphins and whales, which are all protected in the marine park environment.
The Blue Mountains are next on the agenda. There's plenty to see and do here including visiting the amazing stalactites and stalagmites in one of the Jenolan Caves (entrance incl in tour) - the most popular tourist destination in country NSW. You'll be treated to amazing views including a selection of walks if you're up for it.
It’s not long before we find ourselves in the magic of the Hunter Valley - the birthplace of Australian Wine. The Hunter Valley offers stunning wines, fantastic food and sensational scenery - something for everyone!
Back on the coast, we continue our journey north to Port Macquarie. We enjoy a wonderful mixture of coastal and hinterland national parks, expansive beaches and towns as we continue on to Byron Bay, the most easterly point in Australia.
The tour will conclude early afternoon in Brisbane on Saturday, to allow enough time to return the vehicles, and assist with your onward travel plans.
We’re also happy to assist with any accommodation, information or tours for the Brisbane and Queensland area following this tour.
