Britz Action Pod

Britz rentals require a bond. A credit card can only be used to provide the bond, and the credit card holder must be present on pick up as they are jointly liable. The standard liability and refundable Bond is AU$5,000 for the Britz Hi-Top and Voyager Campervans, and AU$7,500 for all other 2WD campervans and AU$8,000 for the 4WD vehicles. This is charged to the hirer’s credit card when they pick up. This is a fairly standard rate for the entire motorhome hire industry. Britz understands that this may be a lot of money, so they offer liability reduction options to reduce the bond and your liability in the event of an incident. Please see terms and conditions for exclusions.

2WD Liability Reduction – Liability/Bond reduced to AU$0 at a charge of $48 per day (travel from 01 April 2023 is AU$53 per day). Also includes under body and overhead damage (does not include single vehicle rollover), plus cover for accidental damage to unlimited tyres and windscreen.

2WD Inclusive Pack: Liability/Bond reduced to AU$0 at a charge of AU$59 per day (travel from 01 April 2023 is AU$65 per day).
Includes: Liability reduction Option with underbody and overhead cover, along with unlimited tyre and windscreen cover, single vehicle rollover cover, camp chairs and table, linen exchange (pop into Britz depots en route to change your linen), extra driver fees, baby/booster seat on request (cannot be fitted to some vehicle categories) and portable fan heater if required.

Liability Reduction 4WD:
Liability/Bond reduced to AU$500 at a charge of $53 per day for 4WD (travel from 01 April 2023 is AU$55 per day).
When the vehicle hired is a 4WD, you will be responsible for the first AU$500 of the cost of damage to third party property or the rented vehicle. This includes single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the exclusions. Customers hiring a 4WD, who have not purchased 4WD Max Cover, will be responsible for up to AU$8,000 for towing on ‘restricted’ roads where permission was provided from Britz – a list of these specific roads is in the terms and conditions. Please also note, for overhead and underbody damage in the 4WD to be covered, you will need to take the 4WD Max cover, see Terms & Conditions for details.

4WD Max Cover:
For an additional cover of AU$249 (travel from 01 April 2023 is AU$275) we strongly recommend our customers take the Britz 4WD Inclusive Pack with 4WD Max Cover for travel with peace of mind. It covers overhead and underbody damage, towing vehicle and recovery costs and unlimited km’s per day. Can only be purchased in conjunction with the Liability Reduction Option or the Britz Inclusive Pack. Reduces Liability to Nil.

Extra Driver Fees:
There is a cost of AU$2 (max charge AU$30) per day for each additional driver; included in the Inclusive Package.  For vehicle collection from 01 April 2023 the cost is AU$2.50 per day (max AU$37.50)

One Way Fees:
A one-way fee of AU$165 – AU$280 applies when the pick up and drop off depot differ. This cost will be included in the quote we provide to you. Please note, for many popular travel routes in Australia, a one-way trip is the best option – ask us for more details on this.

Kilometres:

2WD campers have unlimited kilometres included in the standard rates.

Britz 4WD rates include 300 kilometres per day, otherwise unlimited kilometres are included in the 4WD Max Cover pack. Any excess kilometres will be charged at $0.50 per kilometre if the 4WD max cover is not taken (from April 2023 excess kilometres charged at $0.55 per kilometre).
